1. Check the quality of the profile
The surface of the profile of a genuine plastic steel door and window is smooth and flat, with uniform color and no impurities. Inferior or counterfeit products often have uneven, yellowing or black spots on the surface due to the mixed raw materials of recycled plastics. Außerdem, the thickness of the steel lining of the high-quality profile must be ≥1.5 mm, and the presence of steel can be tested by magnet adsorption. If the magnet cannot be adsorbed, it means that there is no steel lining inside or the thickness is insufficient, which poses a safety hazard.
2. Observe the details of hardware accessories
Hardware accessories are the key to the service life of doors and windows. The hinges, handles, locks, etc. of genuine plastic steel doors and windows are mostly made of stainless steel or zinc alloy, which feel heavy and open and close smoothly without jamming. Counterfeit products often use inferior metal or plastic accessories, which are prone to rust, looseness, and even handle breakage. When purchasing, you can repeatedly open and close to test the smoothness and check whether the accessories have brand logos.
3. Verify the brand certification mark
Plastic steel doors and windows produced by regular manufacturers will have brand name, production date, specifications and models printed on the side of the profile or on the packaging, and provide anti-counterfeiting query codes. Consumers can verify the authenticity through the official website or by phone. If the merchant cannot provide clear identification or inquiry channels, be wary of whether it is a three-no product.
4. Burning test (operate with caution)
Cut a small piece of profile scraps and ignite it with a lighter. High-quality plastic steel profiles are mainly polyvinyl chloride (PVC), which will automatically extinguish after leaving the fire source, and there is no pungent smell when burning. Inferior products may continue to burn due to impurities and release black smoke and odor.
